Throughout the year, you may find yourself searching for resources to support student learning. Here you can find ideas to help you support your students.
Math Facts: XtraMath.org is a FREE web site where you can sign up your class and they can practice their math facts. They can do it at home and at school. You just need to print out the letter to their families after you register your class. I would recommend making one card with their pin on it so they can keep it at home. When students pass a level, you can print out certificates for them to acknowledge their efforts. There's also Reflex math. It does cost money, but it's the best thing I've seen out there for practicing math facts. There are two programs: addition/subtraction and multiplication/division (to 10, to 12). Sometimes they offer one year pilots. |
Module Newsletters for Parents in English:
At this time, commoncore.org has a section for parents that has two-sided hand-outs to help explain the concepts for Modules 1-8. You can download the files from their web site. I wouldn't send parents to our Campbell 2nd grade web site as it is for a resource for our teachers only. Module 1 Module 2 Module 3 Module 4 Module 5 Module 6 Module 7 Module 8 Module Newsletters in Spanish: In this google drive folder you can find the module newsletters translated into Spanish. There are a few missing, but as soon as they are available they will be added to the folder. |
